Description
Alcian blue is synthetic dye from group it is phthalocyanine. Alcian blue has been entered into histologic practice in 1950 H. F. Steedman as specific dye on mucin. Coloring alcian blue well works well after fixing in formalin, Buen's liquid and the difficult fixers containing corrosive sublimate. Dye is recommended for identification of cricoid cages at diagnosis of signet ring cell cancer of stomach.
