Earlier cultivated carrots were quite often considered as a separate type of Daucus sativus (Hoffm.) Röhl. (carrots cultural, or carrots sowing), in Russian-speaking literature such approach prevails ^[4] so far. In modern English-speaking literature and the international databases the cultivated carrots are usually considered as subspecies of carrots wild: Daucus carota subsp. sativus (Hoffm.) Arcang.
