The stretch ceiling is the plain surface received by a tension of a polyvinylchloride film of special structure today. Also special polyester fabric which represents the knitted canvas impregnated with polyurethane from polyester can be material for a stretch ceiling. Modern designs most often use the first option - a ceiling from PVC.
The thin film or fabric stretch on special frameworks (baguettes) which are fixed or on the real ceiling, or on perimeter of walls. As a result we receive the uniform and ideally equal ceiling plane having an appearance of a firm ceiling.
The PVC film used in stretch ceilings has to have the following characteristics:
· width - from 1,3 to 2,2 meters (if wider panels are required, strips cook on special technology so that the seam is almost imperceptible);
· specific weight - from 180 to 320 g/m2;
· thickness - from 0,15 to 0,35 millimeters;
· durability on stretching - 30 N.
