Drum driving/not driving

Drum driving — the basic constructive element of tape conveyors intended for transfer of thirst from the drive block for a conveyor tape. Main functions of driving drums:
starting of a tape of the conveyor and regulation of its tension;
change of a tilt angle of a tape and direction of its movement;
ensuring uniformity of the movement and tension of a tape in operating time.


The drum driving possesses two main characteristics — frictional and strength.

Frictional characteristics are defined by coefficient of coupling of a surface of a drum with a tape. The strength characteristic is defined by the size of a torque and size of a permissible load on a tape.
