Elements of ladders

In order that future ladder was strong and served many years, as construction material it is the best of all to use well dried-up wood of hard-wooded broadleaved or coniferous breeds, for example a larch or a pine.
Any ladder includes two bowstrings, i.e. boards bases on which steps, steps and a handrail with rail-posts and columns fasten. For a bowstring most often choose klenny wooden boards up to 30 cm wide and 5,5-7 cm thick. They are stronger than integral and are not subject to changes of geometry. Length of a board is chosen according to march length. For steps levels by length equal to width of a ladder, about 30-35 cm wide that the leg freely settled down at a step, and 5 cm thick that each step could sustain the weight of one person quietly are used.
