Examination of quality of grain

Quality of grain and products of its processing is normalized by standards. In state standard specifications on the grain made for all cultures are established classification — division into types, subtypes on various signs: to coloring, sizes, form etc., and also basic (settlement) and restrictive norms. It is specified that at this culture it is considered the main grain, weed and grain impurity.

Basic standards of quality are those norms to which there has to correspond grain for receiving for it all-round purchase price. Refer humidity (14-15%), grain and weed primesta (1 — 3%), nature to them — depending on culture and the area of cultivation. If grain on humidity and a contamination is better than basic standards of quality, then to the supplier the monetary extra charge is charged. For humidity and dirtiness of grain, excessive against basic standards of quality, the corresponding discounts from the price and the mass of grain are made.

Restrictive standards of quality are the maximum permissible requirements to grain lowered in comparison with basic, at

compliance to which it can be accepted with a certain adjustment of the price.

Depending on quality grain of any culture is divided into classes. The standard structure, organoleptic indicators, content of impurity and special indicators of quality are the basis for division. Separate requirements, more strict, are established on the grain intended for production of products of baby food.

Apply the following indicators to the characteristic of quality of grain: the general (belonging to grain of all cultures); special (applied to grain of separate cultures); safety indicators.

The obligatory, defined in any party grains of all cultures belong to the general indicators of quality: freshness signs (appearance, color, smell, taste), contamination wreckers, humidity and contamination.
