Hydrazine sulfate
Prepare 1 N sodium hypochlorite solution as follows: place 1800 of alkali liquor in 5 - liter round - battorn flask [300 g (7,5 pier. ) caustic soda in 1500 ml of water] and 1500 of ice. Then in solution pass chlorine until the additional weight does not reach 213 g (3 asking). During this operation solution is carefully cooled with ice to prevent formation of chlorates (note 1). After all chlorine is entered, reaction of solution has to be weakly alkaline as presence of free chlorine prevents formation of hydrazine.
Place 1350 in vyparitelny cup with a diameter of 36 cm (1,5 l; 23 asking) x. h ammonia ud. weight 0,90, 900 ml of distilled water (note 2), 375 ml of 10% solution gelatin (note 3) and 1200 ml 1. the sodium hypochlorite solution prepared as it is stated above. This mix is warmed up as soon as possible and boil out 1/3 initial volumes before receiving. The rest is carefully cooled with ice and filtered with suction through double layer of cloth and through one layer of the ordinary filter paper put over cloth to hold small dispersed impurity. After that the filtrate is poured out in bank for sedimentation and cooled to 0 ° by means of ice with salt. To filtrate flow gradually, portions 10 ml on each 100 ml of filtrate, concentrated sulphuric acid at continuous hashing (note 4). The deposit of hydrazine sulfate drops out (NH2NH2 • H2SO4). Mix is left at several o'clock in the cold before full breaking. Then the deposit is sucked away and washed out cold alcohol. Exit makes 53 — 58 g on each 1,5 l of water ammonia (34 — 37% teoretich. ). In such way receive the crystal absolutely colourless product quite suitable for the majority of the purposes. If absolutely straight product is required, then for this purpose it is enough to perekristallizovat of it from water. On each 21 g of crude product 100 g of boiling water are required. If crude hydrazine sulfate is painted in brown color, then it is recommended to boil solution it with charcoal. After filtering of mix and its cooling to 0 ° receive 19 g of pure, colourless crystals
5. The mother solution remaining after crystallization of hydrazine sulfate contains small amount of hydrazine. If to dissolve 200 g of cuprous sulfate in water and to add the received solution to Yu l of the mother solution remaining from the described process, then after 10 hours of standing the crystal deposit of binary salt of cuprous sulfate and hydrazine sulfate turns out. This salt suspended in 10 - fold (on weight) amount of distilled water, when processing by hydrogen sulfide decays on cuprous sulfide and hydrazine sulfate. After department of deposit of cuprous sulfide solution is boiled out by filtering prior to crystallization of hydrazine sulfate.
