Industrial mountaineering — special technology of performance of high-rise works on industrial and other facilities at which the workplace is reached by means of rise or descent on a rope, or with use of other climbing methods of advance and an insurance. The technology allows the worker to get access to the most hard-to-reach spots without use of the construction woods, cradles or lifting mechanisms.

Scope of industrial mountaineering is very wide, but generally industrial climbers are used in construction and works on washing of facades and designs.
