Installation for production of PBV

In road construction usual materials provided satisfactory quality for many years. Today constantly growing transport loadings, need for reliable and durable roads and requirements of economy made shortcomings of usual bitumens obvious.

In view of these shortcomings, and also many practical and economic factors, within the last 40 years a number of researches was conducted. They showed that polymeric materials are the best modifiers for improvement of technological qualities of bitumen. PBK (polymeric and bituminous knitting) is qualitatively new material allowing to raise paving service life.

The modified bitumen formed by association of usual bitumen and polymer provides higher level of quality.

The MASSENZA company makes installations for production of the bitumen modified by polymers only with application of colloidal mills which provide crushing of polymer in the course of preparation of PBV. When crushing polymer the specific surface of contact of the mixed components increases, and processes of swelling and dissolution of polymer respectively accelerate. Use of the equipment of this kind allows to receive PBV with the regulated technical requirements.
