Description
The orthoxylol represents oil product as a part of which combination of number of volatile organic substances. It is transparent liquid with characteristic smell, easily ignites. The orthoxylol is applied to dissolution of paravar, nitorotsellyuloza and different polymers among which epoxy, vinyl, acrylic and organosilicic, dilute with it melamino - and mochevinoformaldeidny materials. Also the orthoxylol is used for degreasing of different surfaces, and as a part of paints and varnishes it can replace with itself(himself) solvent oil. These properties cause its application in the field of paint and varnish production, besides, this product is demanded in organic synthesis.
According to the physical and chemical characteristics the qualitative orthoxylol has to conform to requirements of TU 38.101254 - 72. According to this document, orthoxylol - transparent liquid without foreign impurity which color should not be more dark than reference solution of 0,003 g K2Cr2O7 in 1 dm3 of water. Density of substance has to be 0,878 - 0,880 / kub. sm at 20 °C. Content of the main substance - not less than 99,2% . Crystallization temperature has to be not below - 25,5 °C, and temperature limits of distillation from 5 to 95% - no more than 0,4 °C. The bromine number of ortoksislol measured in bromine grams on 100 ml of product should not exceed mark in 0,18g.
Being flammable liquid, the orthoxylol has to be stored and be transported in the corresponding conditions. Its storage is carried out in hermetically closed container, avoiding influence of direct sunshine, not allowing proximity of heating devices. All works with orthoxylol have to be carried out in well aired room.
