Paraffin represents mix of solid hydrocarbons of metane number of mainly normal structure from 18 - 35 by carbon atoms in molecule and with the temperature of melting of 45 - 65 °C. Paraffin usually contains quantity of isoparaffin hydrocarbons, and also hydrocarbons with aromatic or naphthenic kernel in molecule.
Application
candles for lighting;
greasing for the rubbing wooden details (the directing drawers, cases, etc. );
in mix with gasoline — anticorrosion coating [2] (flammablly! );
in cosmetics for production of vaseline;
paraffin is registered as food additives of E905kh;
it is used for parafinolecheniye in medicine;
greasing for sliding of cross - country skis, mountain skis and snowboard;
in nuclear physics, equipment: effective decelerator of neutrons and "generator" of protons.
In radio engineering.
For impregnation of the electrotechnical paper which is used at production of condensers and winding of transformers. Sometimes impregnate also the cardboard used for production of mounting payments by method of hinged installation.
For filling of beskarkasny coils of inductance, for protection them from vibrations and microphone effect. It is often applied, for example, in VHF radio receivers. Sometimes fill in all volume of microassembly.
In other cases where are required high electric strength, small losses on alternating current, the low price and possibility of easy release from filling by simple heating.
