Plastic cards with a magnetic strip

One of the most widespread ways of drawing information on plastic cards is use of a magnetic strip. The magnetic strip contains the coded data recording of the card holder. The reader instantly deciphers information which is contained on a magnetic strip.

The magnetic strip assumes reading in special devices - card readers. Modern card readers happen as in the form of separate devices, and combined with other devices, for example: with the keyboard or the monitor. In turn card readers in the form of separate devices differ with interfaces of connection to the computer: com-port, USB port, or PS/2 - in a rupture of the keyboard. For standard readers (readers) the magnetic strip becomes 12,7 mm wide (0,5 inches) and settles down at distance of 4 mm from edge of a card.
