Properties linden wood
- linden wood has low density (. Bulk density at a humidity of 12% - to 420 kg/cubic meters) it is soft, light and viscous, has little durability. When the moisture content of the wood decreases, its hardness increases significantly. When drying, it almost does not warp and does not crack.
- The color of the linden tree is white, sometimes with a pink tinge. In contrast to aspen, the linden does not darken with time, but retains its light color.
- The structure of the wood is not expressed, it has a homogeneous structure. Bitches are rare.
- Lime wood contains essential oils, which is due to its famous amazing smell. It also contains glucose, carotene and ascorbic acid.
Application
- Molded and shelves of lime perfectly suitable for finishing baths and saunas. Low density (and therefore no risk of burns), the absence of resin in wood, a very pleasant smell and its white color, make the lime almost the ideal material for such a finish.
- The lime tree is the main wood for artwork and is amenable to both manual and machining. From it cut out various crafts, toys and utensils: buckets, scoops, bowls and spoons. Lathe on lathes bowls, saucers and lathe toys, among which are famous matryoshkas.
- The lime is used for furniture manufacture and in air and ship modeling. From it, air screws of flying and floating models are made, dolplynye cases of floating models, complicated in shape lugs and blanks.
