Description
The central detail of the cooling system - an automobile radiator. Functions of a radiator - to provide heat exchange of cooling liquid and air and to maintain the necessary temperature of the engine. Modern cars are completed with aluminum radiators which, having necessary technical parameters, surpass copper analogs (weight, cost, tightness, resistance to pressure differences) in some parameters. Loadings which the radiator should maintain are very high. First, this pressure of cooling liquid which can reach 0,2 MPas (2 kg/cm2). To sustain such pressure, junctions of tubes of a radiator with plates have to be most tight with considerable margin of safety.
Secondly, it is the loadings connected with pressure difference. Short-term loadings with different intensity render the bigger destroying effect, than more intensive, but constant pressure.
Thirdly, it is temperature drop of cooling liquid. On big turns temperature of the engine can reach very high values - to +125 °C. Respectively and material of which radiator details are made has to maintain such temperatures.
