Refractory clay

The main raw materials for production of shamotny products is refractory clay. Clays call the sedimentary or destroyed breeds capable to form with water the plastic dough keeping the form given it after drying, and after roasting getting stone hardness. The main material making refractory clay and kaolins is kaolinite (Al203 - Si02 - 2H20) of the following structure: A120z - 46,6% ; Si02 - 39,48 of % and H20 - 13,92 of % .

As raw materials for production of shamotny ogneupor serve clays of the main fields: Chasov - Yarsky and Friends sky (in Donbass), Latnensky (about Voronezh), Borovichi (about Leningrad), Belkinsky, Bogdanovichsky and Buskulsky (in the Urals), Moysky (in Kazakhstan), etc.

Composition of clays of the most large - scale deposit — Chasov - Yarsky following: A1203 + TYu2 — 30 - 35% ; Fe203 — 1,3 — 3% , fire resistance of 1630 — 1710 °C.
