The ring - toothed roller KKZ - 10 - 01 (470 mm), semi - trailer, is designed for crushing clods, destroying the soil crust, rolling the soil, compacting to a depth of up to 7 cm of the subsurface and loosening to a depth of 4 cm of the surface layers of the soil. After rolling, the surface of the field is covered with a mulch layer of soil, which helps to retain moisture.
Pre - sowing rolling is carried out to retain moisture in the soil, crush large clods of earth and level the surface of the field, as well as to compact the soil, which is especially necessary before sowing crops.
This operation reduces slippage and loading of the support - drive wheels of the seeder, which increases the uniformity of sowing and stabilizes the seed placement depth. Post - sowing rolling is a necessary operation for moisture retention and ensuring the contact of seeds with the soil.
Such contact creates favorable conditions for obtaining earlier and more friendly germination of seeds, which is essential in increasing the yield when sown in dry and wind - damaged areas. The skating rink is intended for use in all soil and climatic zones, except for the zone of mountain farming.
The working bodies of the roller are discs and toothed rings. The mutual movement of the rings relative to the disks allows the roller sections to self - clean from sticking wet soil. The design of the skating rink allows its safe transportation along the roads of the general network due to the possibility of its transfer to the position of long - distance transport.
The roller is aggregated with tractors of class 1.4….2.0 equipped with a working hydraulic system. If it is necessary to carry out rolling of crops with a soil hardness of less than 0.9 MPa, it is recommended to use rollers of other brands (with a lower degree of compaction).
The roller is designed to work in such conditions:
- Soil temperature range - from 0°С to + 30 °С;
- Soil moisture in the cultivated layer - from 14% to 23% ;
- Soil hardness in the cultivated layer - no more than 0.4 MPa;
- Ridge of the soil surface (height of ridges) - no more than 80 mm;
- There should be no accumulation of crop residues on the field.
It is not recommended to use the roller on fluffy soils with a content of dusty fraction (particles up to 0.5 mm in size) of more than 20% .
