Fir-tree (Latin Pícea) — a sort of trees of family Pine (Pinaceae). About 40 species of evergreen high trees (up to 30 m high) with beautiful krone. The fir-tree can give young escapes clones from roots of the dead of a tree. In the west of Sweden, in national park of Fulufyellet there is a copy of a fir-tree European, called "Old Tjikko" which age, taking into account several generations of such clones, makes more than 9550 years. It is the oldest known organism on Earth.

Pine (Latin Pínus) — a standard sort of coniferous trees of family Pine (Pinaceae). According to modern data there are about 120 species of a pine which in natural growth are disseminated through all Northern hemisphere from the equator to a polar region. In temperate and subarctic climate they form the woods on plains, and in subtropics, tropics and near the equator grow in mountains. The species of a pine giving edible nuts conditionally unite under the name cedar pines. However it is necessary to remember that the Cedar (Cedrus) — other sort of trees of the same family, and seeds of a pine are not nuts in botanical sense.
