Norms of ensuring objects with emergency firefighting equipment

1. The choice of type and definition of necessary number of fire extinguishers on object (the building, a construction, a structure) is carried out depending on their fire extinguishing ability, a fire class by the form of a combustible material, features of the protected room or processing equipment and other parameters (including environment temperatures in the protected room, lengths of a stream of fire extinguishing means from the fire extinguisher, time of its work and capacity of the fire extinguisher).

2. The fire extinguisher type (figurative or mobile) is defined depending on the area of the possible seat of fire. In case of possibility the preference has to be given to fire extinguishers, more universal on a scope, in the protected room of the combined seats of fire at the choice like the fire extinguisher.

3. The number of fire extinguishers for protection of rooms of buildings, constructions and structures of various category is determined by fire and explosion and fire danger depending on the extreme area protected by one fire extinguisher and the total area of the room according to tables 1 and 2 of the present appendix.

4. The distance from the possible seat of fire to a location of the fire extinguisher should not exceed:

1) 20 m - for public buildings and constructions;

2) 30 m - for rooms of categories A, B and B1-B4;

3) 40 m - for rooms of category G;

4) 70 m - for rooms of category D.

5. In public buildings and constructions on each floor not less than two manual fire extinguishers have to be placed.

6. ^{m2dopuskayetsya} not to equip the room of category D on fire and explosion and fire danger less than 100 with manual fire extinguishers.

7. In the presence of several small rooms of one category on fire and explosion and fire danger the number of necessary fire extinguishers is determined by tables 1 and 2 of the present appendix, taking into account the total area of these rooms.

8. The fire extinguishers sent from the enterprise to a recharge have to be replaced with the corresponding number of the charged fire extinguishers.

9. For protection of the rooms with the expensive electronic equipment and also intended for storage of the objects which are of historical value (including premises of telephone exchanges, the museums, archives) it is necessary to use hladonovy and carbon dioxide fire extinguishers for prevention of danger of damage of the objects stated above by fire extinguishing substance at suppression of the fires.

10. The rooms equipped with automatic stationary installations of fire extinguishing are provided with manual fire extinguishers calculated on the basis of 50% of a standard polozhennost.

11. All fire extinguishers placed on object have to have the serial number applied on the case with white paint and passports of the established form.

12. Placement of emergency firefighting equipment is carried out on foregrounds and at emergency exits from the room at the height no more than 1,5 m from a floor and should not interfere with safe evacuation of people from the building at the fire.

13. The asbestine cloth, grubosherstny fabric or felt (a koshma, a cover from nonflammable material) intended for suppression of the fires have to be stored in metal cases with covers and at least once in three months be dried and be cleared of dust.

14. For placement of emergency firefighting equipment, the nonmechanized tool and fire stock in production and the warehouse which are not equipped with an internal fire-prevention water supply system and automatic installations of fire extinguishing and also in the territory of the enterprises (organizations) which do not have an external fire-prevention water supply system or during removal of buildings, constructions and external technological installations of these enterprises on distance more than 100 m from external sources of a fire-water supply, are equipped fire boards.

The necessary quantity of fire boards and their type are determined depending on category of rooms, buildings, constructions and external technological installations by fire and explosion and fire danger, the extreme protected area by one fire board and a fire class in compliance a stablitsa 3 presents of the appendix.

15. Fire boards have to be completed with emergency firefighting equipment, the nonmechanized fire tool and fire stock according to table 4 of the present appendix.

16. The barrels for water storage installed near a fire board have to have ^{volume not less than 0,2 m3} and be completed with buckets. Boxes for sand have to have ^{the volume of 0,5 m3, 1,0 m3 or 3,0 m3} and be completed with a sovok shovel. The design of a box has to provide convenience of extraction of sand and exclude hit of rainfall.

17. Boxes with sand establish with boards in rooms or on the open areas where pouring of flammable or combustible liquids is possible.
