Self-adhesive strip on a lath of QuickSeam Batten Cover Strip

1. Description

The self-adhesive strip on a lath of QuickSeam Batten Cover Strip of production Firestone represents the strip of the semi-vulcanized EPDM 152 mm wide (6") having on the one hand the vulcanized butyl tape. This strip is intended for a waterproofing of laths and fasteners at mechanical fixing of a membrane according to technical requirements of the Firestone company.

2. Preparation

The waterproofed part of a surface of EPDM of a membrane of RubberGard, laths/plates and kre-the pezhny elements providing fastening of a membrane has to be processed by QuickPrime Plus primer by means of the QuickScrubber or QuickScrubber Plus grater. Use for these purposes of any other materials is not allowed. In case of long storage of this material at temperatures below 15 °C it is necessary to give it the chance to get warm to room temperature just before use.

3. Laying

Stack a strip only in one direction, on a horizontal surface, i.e. do not change the direction of its laying with horizontal for vertical. Concrete instructions on laying are provided in the installation guide published by the Firestone company.

4. Consumption rate

Depending on length of the waterproofed lath. On the end of a lath the strip has to have an overlap not less than 75 mm. The next self-adhesive strips on a lath of QuickSeam Batten Cover Strip have to not less than 25 mm will connect to an overlap and to be stuck from above with a patch.

5. Packing / Storage / Expiration date

Packing: Rolls on 30,5 m (100'), on 2 rolls in cardboard packing. Note: In each cardboard box there are graters with QuickScrubber and/or QuickScrubber Plus handles. Their quantity depends on the concrete material QuickSeam. Storage: To store in the sealed factory container at a temperature from 15 °C to 25 °C. Not to allow hit of a direct sunlight until readiness for use. Expiration date: 12 months on condition of storage according to the above instructions. Before use to check date of production on each roll. At influence of the increased temperatures the expiration date is reduced.
