Silicone oil (silicone fluid) of PMS - 100 of GOST 13032 - 77 (CAS 63148 - 62 - 9)
It is intended for greasing of the low - loaded details in frictional units and swings in devices, household and office equipment. In autocosmetics – for greasing of rubber consolidations, gidrofobiziruyushchy processing of high - voltage wires and details.
PMS - good dielectrics: their specific resistivity about 1x1015 Om * sm, at 20 °C and 1x1013 Om * sm at 150 °C; electric strength about 15 - 20 MV/m. The PMS electric properties poorly depend on temperature and frequency.
PMS possess very small heat capacity and rather good heat conductivity (at them it is about 3,8 times lower, than at water that is quite good).
PMS have very small coefficient of surface tension and, respectively, the good moistening properties. As well as all oligoorganosiloksana of PMS of gidrofobna.
Liquids of small viscosity are dissolved in acetone, ethanol, methanol, ethylene glycol. In general, typical solvents for silicone fluid: methylene dichloride, chlorofluorocarbon, ether, xyflax, methylethylketone.
Directly PMS can be used in quality:
- dielectric and cooling liquid for transformers, rectifiers. magnetrons, etc. ;
- greasings at formation and extruding of products from plastic materials, for greasing of contacts between plastic and rubber, greasings of konveerny tapes by production of foodstuff;
- working fluid for hydraulic couplings, transmissions, the hydraulic, brake and damping liquids;
- making by production surfactant as defoaming agents, products for the organization of fluid flow when transporting;
- heat carriers, liquids of the thermostabilized bathtubs.

Silicone oil is used in some models of photocopiers for wetting of the shaft fixing the image. It prevents sticking of toner to shaft of heating and shaft of clip, but complicates design of fyyuzer and brings additional trouble upon service engineers.
In principle, if to judge by service documentation, silicone oil is used by developers of copy equipment only for creation of release sheet on surface of shaft of nodes of fixing and is never applied as greasing.
At the same time service engineers grease with it heating elements when replacing thermofilms, but also, try to grease guides of carriages of the printing heads or optics, different mechanisms, axes, gear wheels, etc.
Each firm - Canon, Xerox, Ricoh - delivers the silicone oils, different brands for different models, at the same time often it is specified that in this specific model it is allowed to use only strictly certain oil.
