International name: SODIUM HYPOPHOSPHITE
CAS No: 10039 - 56 - 2
Qualification: Imp. "chda", Switzerland
Appearance: crystals of white color
Packing: bags, 25 kg
Storage conditions: in the dry, well aired room
Sodium hypophosphite (Sodium hypophosphite) - salt of H3PO2 hypophosphorous acid. Hypophosphites - colourless crystals, above 200 °C decay, when heating disproportsionirut with formation of H2, red P, PH3, P2H6, phosphites, diphosphites and phosphates. Are well soluble in water, it is worse - in ethanol. Forms monohydrate.
Receiving
Receive sodium hypophosphite (Sodium hypophosphite) interaction of PH3 with NaClO or P with NaOH.
Application
From hypophosphites the greatest practical value has sodium hypophosphite (Sodium hypophosphite)
• Reducer when drawing coverings from Ni, Co, Sn on metals and plastic;
• antioxidant (prevents decolorization of the alkyd resins at their receiving);
• PVC stabilizer and polyurethane;
• reagent for photometric definition of As (III) and Sb(III), etc.
