Property:
Sodium thiocyanate - colourless hydroscopic crystals with rhombic lattice; when heating higher than temperature of melting decays on NaCN and Na2S; density is 1,735 g/cm3; let's dissolve in water.
Application:
Sodium thiocyanate is used:
• as reagent for dyeing and printing of fabrics,
• as component of developers in the photo,
• in galvanics and when processing steel,
• as reactant for photometric definition of Fe, Co, Mo, W, etc.
• for production of spinning solutions by production of polyacrilic fibers,
• for receiving other thiocyanates, etc.
