Soil

Soil ( nem.grund — a basis, the soil) — the rocks, soils, technogenic educations representing multicomponent and diverse geological system and being object of engineering economic activity of the person.

Distinguish:

• rocky and semi-rocky soil — monolithic soil with rigid structural communications;
• disperse soil — razdelnozernisty soil without rigid structural communications: coherent — clay , both incoherent — sandy and krupnooblomochny.

Soil can be used as foundations of buildings and various engineering constructions, material for constructions (roads, embankments, dams), the environment for placement of underground constructions (tunnels, pipelines, storages), etc.
