Tetrachlorethylene has replaced all other solvents in this area as it not goryuch also can be safely used without special precautionary measures. Because of the stability tetrachlorethylene contains low interest of stabilizers and is for the same reason used along with trichloroethylene and 1,1,1 trichloroethane for degreasing of metals, especially, of aluminum. In smaller quantities tetrachlorethylene is applied in the textile industry and production of trichloro - trifluoroethane.
