An indispensable condition for transfer of the image on a surface of the sealed material is either the polymeric structure of the material, or existence of a polymeric covering on its surface. So, for example, at the press on fabrics it is necessary that in their structure there were not less than 60% of synthetic fiber. At the press on metal, ceramics, a tree the surface needs to be processed previously a special covering, for example, an acrylo-polyurethane varnish. Products with the sublimatsioony press differ in the increased quality of the image, have very bright appearance, the press cannot be erased or washed away, it does not burn out.
Sublimation - sublimation (evaporation) - transition of substance from a firm state at once in gaseous, passing liquid.
The technology consists in transfer of the image by means of an intermediate thermotransfer.
At first the image in a specular reflection is applied by sublimation paint to the intermediate carrier - special paper. As the intermediate carrier the transfer paper delivered both in sheets, and in rolls is used. Transfer paper is covered with a special layer, not allowing dye to get into structure of paper that causes its good tolerance under the influence of temperature. As a result of heating and pressure on the special equipment (the thermopress for flat printing or a calender for the rolled press) paint from a transfer evaporates and gets into structure of the sealed material. When the sealed material cools down, dye remains not on its surface, and in it. At the same time the image is reliably protected by a polymeric surface. The basic in technology is special paint, paper and process of transfer of the image with intermediate on the final carrier. The way of the press of a thermotransfer can be various (an inkjet printing, silk-screen printing, a flexography, an offset printing) depending on the circulation of products and beauty of the image.
Restriction of use of sublimation is that the image can be applied only on white or light shades materials.
