The tape saws on metal used on horizontal and vertical detachable machines.
The tape saws on metal used on horizontal and vertical detachable machines are divided into three types — carbonaceous, bimetallic and hard - alloy.
Now the greatest application is found by bimetallic tape saws. This type of a saw represents the bearing cloth from 13 to 80 mm wide, made of special spring steel with the content of chrome about 4% .
On an end face of the bearing cloth the electronic beam welds a thin strip of continuously cutting material. After welding and the corresponding heat treatment of a cloth in it the cutting teeths of a certain profile which are exposed then to a certain disorder are milled.
Selection of tape saws
The step of a tape saw is defined how number of teeths on one inch (25,4mm) — TPI (tooth per inch).
Constant step of a tape saw — all teeths identical are also located at identical distance.
Variable step of a tape saw — "small" and "big" teeths alternate in such a way that on two inches of a tape saw one inch with one constant step, the second — with another turns out. Tape saws with a variable step of tooth are most preferable when cutting metal as have wider, in comparison with a constant step, working range, and also reduce vibration and noise of the lentochnopilny machine.
For sawing up of thin - walled preparations, such as pipes, sheet hire, etc. , are required tape saws with a small step of tooth, otherwise there is a danger to damage or break tooth.
Preparations of the big size have to be cut by tape saws with a big stride of tooth. The number of the teeths making sawing up are less the cutting ability is higher. It is connected with the fact that penetration of each separate tooth is higher if pressure of giving of a saw is distributed on smaller number of teeth. Thus, the big stride increases productivity and leaves a lot of place for free formation of shaving.
For sawing up of soft materials, such as aluminum and bronze, is required a lot of empty seat for formation of shaving. The big stride does not allow shaving to accumulate and get stuck in between teeths that could result in bad quality of a cut and damage a tape saw.
For a right choice of a step of tooth necessary to you use recommendations about the choice of a step of tooth of a tape saw.
The size of a tape saw (length and width) are defined only by parameters of that machine on which this saw will be used. Each machine of horizontal type uses saws of strictly certain length and width.
Tape saws are delivered as in bays, and welded in a tape for any model of the machine. Width of a tape is from 13 to 80 mm. On vertical machines saws of the smaller sizes are used, up to the 6th by mm width.
There are several simple rules which allow the Customer to choose type of a tape saw independently:
for cutting carbonaceous and low - carbonaceous staly uses bimetallic tape saws (cloths) of the M42 type;
for cutting of high carbon steels and alloys bimetallic tape saws (cloths) of the M51 type are used;
