Technical sulfamic acid

Sulfamic acid represents crystal substance from white till light gray color. It is soluble in formamide, is sparingly soluble in water, is not soluble in organic solvents and concentrated sulphuric acid.

Density at 25 °C - 2,126 g/cm ³. Melting temperature - 205 °C, decomposition temperature - 260 °C.

Chemical formula: NH2SO3H.

Use of sulfamic acid.

Sulfamic acid is applied for:

- washings of inner surfaces of the heattechnical equipment at combined heat and power plant;

- cleanings of the industrial equipment of mineral deposits (salts of rigidity, oxide films, compounds of iron), the food equipment from milk and beer stone;

- removals of carbonate deposits (scum) from heat - exchanging devices, radiators, household ware, etc. ;

- cleanings of ship systems of scum and products of corrosion on vessels;

- processings of bottomhole zone of oil wells for the purpose of increase in oil recovery of layer;

- decomposition of excess of nitrous acid in diazotization processes;

- removals of slime from the water - cooling systems and pools.

Also sulfamic acid is used as the main raw materials for production of synthetic detergents.

In galvanotechnics it is used for preparation of electrolytes and for etching of food tin.

Sulfamic acid is used as raw materials at synthesis of chemical means for receiving fire - resistant materials and herbicides.

Sulfamic acid is applied instead of hydrochloric and nitric acids, caustic soda, soda ash. The main advantages of sulfamic acid it is its efficiency, profitability and simplicity in application.
