THE REINFORCING FORTA FI ADDITIVE

One of ways of achievement of resistance of asphalt concrete to a koleeobrazovaniye is disperse reinforcing of asphalt concrete mixes polymeric fibers. Reinforcing of asphalt concrete is understood as addition of fibers in mix for increase of durability and durability. After distribution of fiber work as disperse fittings, allowing to solve the problems connected with resistance to various deformations. One of such additives is Forta® FI (USA).

 Forta® FI is the patent mix of synthetic fibers intended for application in asphalt concrete mixes for prevention of the reflected treshchinoobrazovaniye, shift, a koleeobrazovaniye and other problems connected with stability of asphalt concrete under the influence of operational loadings.

The additive represents mix from mesh fibers and high-strength fibers, twisted in sheaves, from monothreads. Patent mix is made of two synthetic fibers: from polypropylene (twisted in sheaves) and from aromatic polyamide of aramid (monothread) which work in common, improving asphalt concrete indicators

The polypropylene fibers twisted in bunches promote hashing and distribution, and high-strength high-temperature aramide fibers reinforce and improve properties of asphalt concrete mix. The distributed and fluffed up fibers are actually invisible on a covering surface so to make any changes to usual methods of laying and consolidation it is not required. Asphalt concrete with Forta® FI can be successfully used on any objects, from the carriageway of streets and highways to commercial and industrial parkings.

Use of Forta® FI fibers prevents the reflected treshchinoobrazovaniye, a koleeobrazovaniye, and also allows to reduce thickness of an asphalt concrete layer without stability loss.
