The wire in a general view is metal, usually cylindrical form flexible thread or a bar of metal (figure 1). The wire is used with the purpose to maintain mechanical loadings, to transfer electricity and telecommunication signals. The term "wire" in a broader sense primenitelen to a bunch of threads, as, for example, in "a mnogovitkovy wire" which it is more correct to call a metal rope in mechanics or a cable in electrical equipment.

The wire is produced continuous, multicore and with a braid. Though usually the wire has round cross section, also it can be produced by the square, six - sided, flattened rectangular or other cross sections both for decorative, and for the technical purposes.
