The valve locking (gate) is a constructive type of fittings in which for overlapping of a stream of a working environment the locking body moves returnable progressively along the central axis of a sealing surface of the case. On a case design gates are subdivided on through passage, angular and direct-flow. Gates of all-technical appointment usually have omental consolidation of a spindle in the top part under a nut. The zolotnik (a plate of the valve) connects to a spindle sharnirno, except for execution of a zolotnik a uniform detail with a spindle. Management is carried out or manually, by means of a flywheel, the handle, or by means of the electric drive (accession is carried out under "square").Advantages of gates:
possibility of work at high differences of pressure on locking body and at great values of working pressure; simplicity of a design, service and repair under operating conditions; small course of locking body necessary for full blocking of pass. rather small overall dimensions and weight; possibility of use as regulator; a possibility of installation on the pipeline in any spatial situation.
Shortcomings of gates: high hydraulic resistance; impossibility of application on streams of strongly polluted working environments, and also on Wednesdays with high viscosity; the possibility of giving of a working environment only in one direction caused by a valve design.
